Isaiah 11:15-16
| 15 And the LORD will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with His scorching wind will He shake His hand over the [Euphrates] River, and will smite it into seven streams, and cause people to march over on dry ground. |
And there shall be a highway for the remnant of His people who remain from Assyria, as there was for Israel on the day they went up from the land of Egypt.
Rashi:
And there shall be a highway: in the midst of the water for the remnant of His people.
MCK NOTE:
This is the event toward which all baptism from the time of Yochanan the Immerser points.
All of Isaiah 11 is to be revealed in light of this event. This is the baptism of all Israel in the death and resurrection of entering into the cloud, the garment of Mashiach, the fire of his new creation, wherein dwells Torah righteousness.
All Messianic baptism through the ages shall be translated and reclaimed to bear witness to this holy immersion of the twelve tribes of Israel to come, the true source of all regeneration. And this is the great, complete immersion of Israel in the cloud of fire of the Holy Shechinah, the Holy Spirit.
It is unto this that Yochanan the Immerser testified concerning Yehoshua, speaking to all Israel saying, "I immerse you in water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit and [Shechinah] fire."
